Today’s tutorial was inspired by the golden lips used by singer Claudinha Leitte in one of the episodes of The Voice Brazil.
- Lips with brighter and brighter metallic pigments are a strong trend now for 2015.
- Many gringas brands have already relied on the brighter.
- Creamy and more uniform finish in their lipstick collections.
Here in Brazil, this trend has gradually reached, conquering more and more consumers every day, some have already used it, others are already emerging from their comfort zone, and investing in something different like gold.
Thinking of a way to create a more usable and accepted tutorial, I chose to use a powder eye shadow with brightness and a glow to use as a base, because if I used a lipstick as a base and a golden metallic tone, the color is probably much more intense, or even finished for some readers. Since everything used on television isn’t part of our daily lives, is it?
But the main idea is to bring the gold to your lips, but in a softer way, so you can control the intensity of the shine according to your preferences.
1. La first, as always, is to prepare your lips with base and powders, or a concealer and powders, in this tutorial we do not need to erase the whole lip, just the outline to make the finish more beautiful. The gloss is very emollient, so it would remove the base based on concealer or base (that’s why it’s interesting to leave lips even more naked!). The other reason is that in this tutorial we don’t want a high coverage, we want to keep the finish more translucent.
2. Apply the brightness of your choice to the entire surface of the lips, top and bottom.
3. This should look like your lips with shiny base
4. To apply a golden shine, use a synthetic hair concealer brush, remove excess product and start applying to the lips.
5. Start by applying your pigmented or powdered eye shadow, or shaving the golden eye shadow of your choice, from the center of the lips to the outside, so that the most product is concentrated in the center of the lips.
6. Do the same on the upper lip
7. With the help of the brightness application itself, you will mix it so that this first layer of brightness is mixed with the gold that has been applied, the brightness of the applicator will facilitate this process. Spread well over the lip and reach the edge of the contour.
8. Si you are a more discreet person, and you want something softer, stop at this stage, because you will already have a golden glow on your lips, wearable, but very discreet, if you want something more intense take the next step.
9. Repeat the process of step 5 by adding more shine to the lips and ready, your lips are finished.
Tip 1: Choose a golden shade that identifies, if you want it to be a fresher golden hue, you can mix some silver tone to balance the tone temperature, but very little.
Tip 2: Be careful when choosing the brightness color, the color background can change the final result, choose one that is as close to transparent as possible, or with only bright pigments.
Tip 3: Why didn’t I mix it on a front surface, then apply it directly to my lips? I did this to control the intensity of the glow and know where to stop, if I had already done the mixing. Before I was not sure how much dye I should use and this way you would get an unwanted result.
Tip 4: Can I use eye care products on my lips?Choose shadows or mineral pigments that can be used throughout your face. Personally, I see no problem using anything other than minerals, because eye products are dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, and the product will not be ingested, it will be on the surface of the lips, anyway, it is up to you to choose what you feel comfortable with.
